How to use the random number generator
- Enter the lowest number in From and the highest in To, or press a quick range such as 1–6 or 1–100.
- Choose How many numbers you need. Keep No repeats ticked to get different numbers.
- Press Generate, Enter or Space. The result shows straight away and is added to the history.
Pick a number 1 or 2
Press the 1–2 quick range for a fair choice between two options. It works like a coin toss with numbers. For a real coin with heads and tails, use the coin flip.
Generate many random numbers without repeats
Set How many numbers to any value up to 1,000. With No repeats ticked, every number in the result is different, which suits raffles, lottery-style picks and random samples. Tick Sort the numbers to list them in order. To draw numbers one at a time over a whole session, such as a bingo game, use the no-repeat number draw.
Decimals, negative numbers and exclusions
- Decimals: choose 1, 2 or 3 decimal places for numbers such as 4.27.
- Negative numbers: enter a negative value in From, for example −50 to 50.
- Leave out numbers: list numbers that must never come up, such as
7, 13.
Spin the numbers on a wheel
Tick Spin on a wheel to see the range as a spinning wheel for any whole-number range of up to 100 numbers. It suits classrooms and live streams. The winner is still chosen by the same cryptographic generator. For a fully custom wheel, use spin the wheel.

Is it really random?
Yes. Every result comes from your browser's cryptographic random number generator, crypto.getRandomValues, the same source used for security keys. Nothing is decided in advance and nothing is stored on our server. See the live fairness test.
