Pick a random MLB team by league or division

The MLB has 30 teams in 2 leagues, the American League and the National League, and 6 divisions. The filters let you spin only one league, one division, or any mix. The count on the button shows how many teams match before you fill the wheel.

Spin a random MLB team and year

Season mode adds a random season between 1970 and 2026 to every result. The generator only picks seasons when that franchise existed, and it shows the name the team used that year: the Montreal Expos until 2004, the Florida Marlins from 1993 to 2011, and the Cleveland Indians until 2021. Narrow the years with the From and to boxes.

Draft mode: a random MLB team for every player

Draft mode gives each player a different MLB team in one click. Type the players, one per line, and press Give each player a team. No team is used twice. With season mode on, every player also gets a season. Copy the list straight into a group chat.

Is the generator fair?

Yes. Every pick uses your browser's cryptographic random number generator, and every entry on the wheel has the same chance unless you give it a weight. You can test the picker yourself on the live fairness test.
